From the Dean

 Idea for Summer Workshops:

To the Good People of Solumbria from your Dean of Arts Dame Chiara da Milano, Greetings!

I’d like to propose a series of events in Solumbria to work on projects that will benefit individuals (and perhaps groups). We would hold a retreat where folk could work on projects, hold classes, and gather in camaraderie.

From May until August, I propose holding one weekend per month a “workshop” at a State Park where folk could work on projects that might need more space than their own home would allow; hold classes on various skills or knowledge that some might need to better play our game and where folk could come together and have fun.

I’d like to ask some questions to get a better understanding and idea of what might be useful, interesting, and fun.

1.       What topics would you like to know (more) about?

2.       What skills would you like to learn?

3.       What projects would you like to make?

4.       What might you like to teach to others?

5.       Would you prefer to have an open-ended workshop or a “themed” workshop? (ie sewing, leatherworking, scribal, armor repair, etc.)

6.       Would you prefer to be in medieval or modern clothing?

Please send me responses to these question via email at karie.mitchell@gmail.com to let me know your answers. Based on the replies, I will make plans to host four events over the summer.

Ciao!

Dame Chiara da Milano
